I, for one, have had it with winter. And I'm pretty sure everyone north of the Mason-Dixon line would agree with me. We've already had twice the snow we usually do up to this point, so here's hoping for an early Spring!
Last week was just crazy, as Mike was sick and I had a serious case of cabin fever!
Monday 1/31: beautiful day, but Mike came home from work puking and slept for 18 hours straight. (He's been sick off and on since before Christmas)
Tuesday & Wednesday 2/1&2: Terrible ice storm that coated our yard and driveway in 4 inches of solid packed ice. The city pretty much shut down. Since I work from home, I had to work while everyone else got a snow day. Not fair! But then again I guess it's not fair when I stay in my warm house all day and my co-workers have to drive out in that snowy/icy madness. Mike stayed home.
Thursday 2/3: I cancelled my appointment at the dr's office (to hear the baby's heart beat) which was sad... I worked and Mike stayed home.
Friday 2/4: Yay! Mike went back to work! And he's feeling a lot better. I ventured out for the first time in over a week to go grocery shopping, and my sweet hubby drove me there and helped me to not slip on the ice in the parking lot.
Saturday 2/5: Woke up to another 5 inches of snow. Are you kidding me? We stayed inside all day and laid around, and I did 1 load of laundry. It was a great day. The snow fell pretty much all day long.
Sunday 2/6: Woke up to more snow and decided that it was not safe to go anywhere until at least we could get out of the driveway. Spent at least 2 hours outside shoveling and I'm still sore! I shoveled and Mike broke up the ice. He definitely had the harder job. :) We went out to lunch to celebrate some birthdays with family, and then back home to bake before we went to a Superbowl party.
I heard that we may have temps in the 40s this weekend, which makes me SOOOO happy. Our street and driveway is still mostly a skating rink, as the highs have been in the teens and lows around zero.
Come on, Spring!!!
Pregnancy news:
Nothing new, except that I'm getting fatter all the time! The cold weather has caused some cabin fever for me, which isn't made any better with hormones. :) I finally have more energy, which is nice, and so maybe I'll actually make a dent in the laundry pile that hasn't seen much progress since Christmas. Oh well. TOMORROW we go to the dr to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. I am SO excited!!! Here's my Week 15 belly shot:
